Training
At Mindat Township, Southern Chin State
THE
TEAM AND JOURNEY:
I led 10 of my
friends, (teachers, students, graduates) and departed on
February 21,2011. We drove for about 12 hours and the next day
we moved on to Pakokku, capital town of Ma Gwe division and then
we took horse
cart for about 30 minutes. Then we
rested for about 2 hours and gathered our strength by having
breakfast and went to Mindat. We traveled in a Jeep Car for
another 12 hours on windy roads. We divided ourselves into two
teams. While six of them had gone first to the village to share the
Gospel of Jesus to the animists and Buddhist families in
villages by applying door to door evangelism, five of us
remained at Mindat township for pastors seminar. The team who
had gone to the village had an exciting story. Samuel, team
leader, told us that John 4 was coming alive. As they shared the
story of Jesus, the woman beckoned other animists to come and
listen. Each time they finished sharing the Gospel, they prayed
for and with them. Three of our students were our interpreters.

Along four of team members, I taught on
How to Study the Bible Inductively and
Principles for
Interpretation of Bible Parables during the day for four days and
for three nights Joshua and I spoke on
Mistakes Leaders Often Make such as
decisions made based on our feeling rather than based on facts
and the teaching of the Bible.

Andrew Om was
sent as missionary to his own people early in 2007 and the Lord
used him to start a church. When we first visited this village
in March 2009, LUK PE, we baptized 30 believers upon their
profession of faith. Most of these people are elderly who
formerly embraced the worship of animism. Some of the people (MUIN
people group, population is
about 30,000 only) in this village remain animist to this day.
We also ordained Andrew Om in 2010 when he came to Yangon.
Through his effort the Gospel of Jesus has gone to a
neighbouring village,
called Bu Gwe, occupied by about 35 families.
